Understand prioritization score
The prioritization score gives owners a consistent starting point for comparing requests, without pretending the number is the whole decision.
How to interpret it
Votes represent demand. Comments add context. Age can keep older requests visible. None of those signals replaces strategy, effort, customer fit, or timing.
A high score means a request deserves attention. It does not automatically mean the team should build it next.
Step-by-step
- 1
Review high-score posts. Use the score to find demand clusters.
- 2
Read the comments. Understand why customers care before planning.
- 3
Compare effort. A smaller request with strong demand may beat a large request with slightly more votes.
- 4
Check strategic fit. Do not ship off-roadmap work just because it scored well.
- 5
Use it as a planning input. Score should start the conversation, not end it.
Details to remember
- Changing weights too often makes comparisons unstable.
- Score is more useful when duplicates are merged cleanly.
- Comment quality matters more than comment count alone.
